For many, New Year is associated with white snow, ice rink and bitter frost. But how do they create a New Year's atmosphere in hot countries at above-zero temperatures?

In Australia, summer begins in December, so Australians do not meet the main night of the year in winter, but in the midst of the hot summer season.

An impressive Christmas tree has been erected at Martin Place, Sydney's pedestrian center. The tall Christmas tree is adorned with specially made 330 shiny balls, 110 000 LED lanterns, and a 7-pointed star flaunts at the top of the tree.

A unique feature of the tree is 15 000 flower buds scattered across 800 branches. There are 9 species of Australian flora: banksia, telopea, callistemon (bottle brush), wattle, eucalyptus, anigosantos (kangaroo paw), actinotus (flannel flower), pink and white hoya (wax flower).

You can feel the unique atmosphere of the grandeur of architecture in the Queen Victoria Building (QVB): incredible stained glass windows, fabulous staircases, by the way, included in the ten most beautiful staircases on the planet, a unique clock.

The landmark of the building is its dome, the diameter of which reaches 20 meters. Every year, a Christmas tree is installed under the dome, inspired by the Australian Wollemia pine, one of the oldest and rarest trees in the world. Luxurious spruce is notable for the top decor from the Austrian company Swarovski. The main entrance to the Queen Victoria Building is decorated with 7 000 light bulbs.

A favorite Sydney Christmas tradition is the fabulous light show projected onto the façade of the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary. Stunning visuals with musical accompaniment make you believe in miracles and magic.
