Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the newly appointed UNDP Permanent Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Sahakyan, who presented copies of her letters of credence, the country's Foreign Ministry reported.
R. Meredov, congratulating Mrs. Sahakyan on her appointment to a responsible post, wished her success in her new career.
Continuing the meeting, the parties discussed the effectiveness of Turkmenistan's interaction with the UN Development Program, considering current and future projects. The conversation also touched upon key areas of cooperation, including the entry of Turkmenistan into the WTO.
The UNDP cooperation program in Turkmenistan for the period 2021-2025 reflects a wide range of priorities for further joint work, such as the SDGs, human rights, economic diversification, digitalization, climate and energy efficiency, health care, social protection and many others.
During the meeting, Ms. Sahakyan assured that she would make every effort to develop cooperation between UNDP and Turkmenistan in order to achieve sustainable development.
It should be reminded that the Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan Natia Natsvlishvili completed her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan in August this year.
