The Argentine authorities have appointed a new ambassador to Turkmenistan

The Government of Argentina intends to send the diplomat Eduardo Antonio Zuain as the new ambassador of the republic to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow). This is reported by Infobae with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the South American country.

“The diplomat Eduardo Antonio Zuain was appointed by Order 570/2021 as the Ambassador of Argentina to Turkmenistan,” — said in a statement.

At the same time, Eduardo Antonio Zuain will continue to serve as ambassador to Russia, to which position he was appointed in February 2021.

The new Argentine ambassador to Turkmenistan, Eduardo Antonio Zuain, is 58 years old. He was born in the Argentine city of Santiago del Estero, has a juridical and diplomatic education. He worked at the Embassy of Argentina in Italy from 1999 to 2006.

Eduardo Antonio Zuain served as deputy Foreign Minister in the government of former President Cristina Elisabet Fernández de Kirchner in 2011-2015. In 2016-2017, he headed the Embassy of Argentina in Paraguay. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to Russia, Zuain headed the Institute of Diplomatic Service (ISEN) at the Argentine Foreign Ministry.

Turkmenistan and Argentina established diplomatic relations in September 1992.
