Turkmenistan has increased the supply of fruits and vegetables to Russia by 93%

The import of vegetables and fruits to Russia from Turkmenistan has increased by 93% this year, finmarket.ru reports with reference to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

Compared to last year, supplies increased from 16.9 thousand tons to 32.7 thousand tons. The main share of fruit and vegetable products imported from Turkmenistan falls on tomatoes and carrots, the supply of which increased accordingly: tomatoes - from 16.4 thousand tons to 31.9 thousand tons, carrots - from 40 to 302 tons.

These figures are as of August 10th.

The source also reports that this year the supply of vegetables and fruits from Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, as well as from other CIS countries, has significantly increased.

It is noted that on July 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to take measures to increase the supply of agricultural products from the CIS countries in order to stabilize food prices.

Earlier we reported that 23.2 tons of watermelons were delivered from Turkmenistan to Russia by sea.
