Charlie Chaplin's famous film “The Kid” turns 100 this year.

In honor of this event, this retro film will be shown on June 6 at the Mahtumkuli Musical Drama Theater with live musical accompaniment by the Youth Chamber Orchestra conducted by Rasul Klychev.

This is Chaplin's first full-length film in which he acted as an actor, director, screenwriter and composer. In 1921, the film took the second place at the box office.

In the credits at the beginning of the film, Chaplin himself wrote: “You will laugh and cry while watching.” Indeed, the touching story of a foundling and a vagrant who sheltered him has been echoing in the hearts of viewers for over a century.

In 2011, the film was listed on the US National Film Register as “of great cultural, historical, or aesthetic significance.”

The time of the film screening is 19:00.
