On the occasion of the International Women's Day celebrated today, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed his compatriots with a festive Appeal, which, in particular, says:
“I sincerely congratulate you on International Women's Day! I am convinced that in the first days of spring of the Year “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust” celebrations in honor of this holiday will increase joy in the hearts of our dear mothers, dear sisters, women and girls.
Patriotism, wisdom, sensitivity, sincerity, dedication, devotion, selflessness, tact, courtesy - these are your wonderful qualities that are an excellent example of high morality and nobility. They increase in the hearts of generations national pride for our glorious past, immense love for today, great faith in a bright future, glorifying our people even more.
Today, our women and girls, multiplying material and spiritual values, becoming the height of perfection, grace and sophistication, the golden crown of humane traditions passed down from generation to generation, are selflessly working in various sectors of the economy, in state and public life in the name of our great future, transformation Motherland into a powerful state.
We highly appreciate the merits of our dear mothers, all women in the upbringing of the younger generation. We are immensely proud of their fruitful activities in state, government and administrative structures, in various sectors of the economy, in the fields of science, education, culture and health care, in the successful implementation of national programs.
Veneration of mothers, girls, women is an age-old tradition of the Turkmen people. Guided by this, taking into account the special merits in the implementation of transformations, large-scale programs, huge successes in work, social life, a significant contribution to the education of young fellow citizens, we award our women with the order “Zenan kalby” (“Women’s heart”), we confer the honorary title “Ene mähri” (“Mother's tenderness”) on mothers.
The state provides women with privileges, creates the necessary conditions for their dignified life and creative work, ensures gender equality, which is an important factor in the stable development of society. All this increases the role of our dear women in the social and political life of the country.
Program work is underway to ensure the rights and interests of women, support the family and motherhood. In this direction, we are actively developing constructive partnership with authoritative international organizations, and, first of all, with specialized structures and agencies of the United Nations.
In accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and generally accepted norms of international law, the participation of women on equal rights with men in socio-political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian activities, the creation of equal opportunities for them, is a clear evidence of the successful implementation of our main motto “The State is for Human!”.
