Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the State Council on December 23 that the issue of opening borders for the labor force could be discussed with some countries, RIA Novosti reported.
However, the head of state said that this should be done “precisely”: only for those sectors of the economy and even for specific projects where there is a shortage of manpower.
“It simply came to our notice then. They themselves are working on these facilities, to give them a chance to earn, to give the construction a chance to develop, and for our citizens who are connected to this complex”, Putin said.
He added that this issue is very important for the construction sector, which is one of the most important in the entire economy of the country.
