“Galkynysh” newspaper and “Vozrojdenie” magazine abolished in Turkmenistan

“Galkynysh” newspaper and “Vozrojdenie” magazine revoced in Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the signed resolution by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov editor’s office of this publications will be attached to the editor’s office of the “Watan” (“Motherland”) newspaper, that was determined as their legal successor. At the same time, the tasks of the abolished “Vozrojdenie” magazine were assigned to the “Diyar” (Homeland) magazine, which is published once a month in the Turkmen, English and Russian languages, the

Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported today.

The document also instructs the Turkmen State Publishing Service, together with the Ministry of Justice, to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers proposals on amendments and additions to the legislation of Turkmenistan arising from this Resolution within a month.

The decision to merge similar publications was made in order to “improve the activities of the editorial offices of newspapers and magazines”, underlines the Resolution.

The newspaper “Galkynysh” and the magazine “Vozrojdenie” were published at intervals of 1 time a week in Turkmen and 1 time a month in Russian, respectively.

The newspaper “Watan” is published in the Turkmen language 3 times a week.
