The final round of the national creative contest "Kesbi-kärim nesillere görelde" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan was held in the capital's center of public organizations, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reports.
The main goal of the event, organized by the National center of trade unions and the Union of women of Turkmenistan, is to promote folk arts and crafts in the modern world.
Participants of the contest from all regions of the country presented their products that reflected the reverent attitude to the nature of the region, history, culture and traditions of the Turkmen people.
According to the results of the competition, a carpet master from the Balkan velayat Gulshat Danatarova won the Grand Prix.
The 1st place was shared by participants from Ashgabat Shirin Gylyjova, a teacher of the «Jewelry art» Department of the Academy of arts of Turkmenistan, who presented her jewelry works made in classical folk traditions and seamstress Aysoltan Jumayeva from Mary velayat.
Habiba Hojaniyazova, a hereditary master ceramist who represented the Dashoguz velayat, and embroiderer Nurgozel Amannazarova from the Akhal velayat took 2nd place.
Gulshat Sadykova, a representative of the Lebap velayat, a master of making national floor mats-korpenche, took the 3rd place of honor.
Decorative and applied art products have always remained a link between the past and the present, and this competition once again demonstrated the commitment of the Turkmen people to the ancient culture of their ancestors.
The constant appeal of masters to the richest folk traditions, the possession of techniques developed over many centuries, will allow the artists of tomorrow to create truly original and, at the same time, relevant works.
