Lithuania is interested in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan in a number of areas, including transport, electronics, machinery and equipment, agricultural and food products, and the chemical industry. This is reported by Trend, referring to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

In the first quarter of this year, the trade turnover was spasmodic. Namely, at the beginning of the year, having reached 5 million euros, it fell to 3.2 million and rose again to 6.7 million. The Ministry said that "The coronavirus pandemic has not had a significant impact on relations between Turkmenistan and Lithuania."

Earlier, Lithuania expressed its readiness to share its experience in the field of port management and logistics, sea transport and shipbuilding with the Turkmen side. In addition, the parties also noted other promising areas of cooperation, such as the energy sector, the industrial sector, including the textile industry, as well as the high-tech sector.

According to the source, Turkmenistan and Lithuania previously discussed creating a new transport route through the Caspian Sea and the Black sea to the Baltic region.
