President of Turkmenistan congratulates on appointment of new Prime Minister of Bahrain

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent warm congratulations and best wishes to Salman Bin Hamad al Khalifa on the occasion of his appointment as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the "Watan" news program of the Turkmen television reported.

Taking this pleasant opportunity, the head of Turkmenistan expressed to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain the wishes of good health, happiness and great success in responsible state activities for the sake of peace, well-being and prosperity of the fraternal people of Bahrain.

Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad al Khalifa, 51, was appointed Prime Minister of Bahrain by Royal decree after the death on November 11 of his predecessor, Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa, who led the government for 50 years. The world record holder for the longest tenure as Prime Minister, Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa, died in an American clinic where he was treated, two weeks before his 85th birthday.

In Bahrain, the Prime Minister is appointed by the king, and parliamentary approval is not required.
