Representatives of the state migration service of Turkmenistan took part in the 71st session of the Executive Committee of the UN high Commissioner for refugees’ program, which was held online in Geneva.
The forum is organized annually to analyze and evaluate global and regional migration trends.
Speakers at the meeting noted that in the context of the pandemic situation in the world, the situation of refugees has significantly worsened.
During his speech, the representative of the migration service noted the work done by Turkmenistan to create safe, legal and responsible migration, which is included in the main requirements of the modern framework of the sustainable development program.
According to the website of the migration service, the UN high Commissioner for refugees Filippo Grandi thanked the delegation of Turkmenistan for its work to eliminate statelessness and stressed that our country's experience in this area is exemplary for many States.
