Early this morning, a long-haul Boeing-777-200LR plane of Turkmen airlines landed at the Turkmenabat international airport, bringing Turkmen citizens from Russia to Turkmenistan who were forced to stay in this country after air traffic was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the airport's information service, the special flight from Moscow with 272 passengers on Board was organized on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

In accordance with the recommendations of the world health organization (who), all citizens who arrived on a Charter flight from Russia will undergo a mandatory two-week quarantine.

Earlier, Turkmenistan has already organized Charter flights to Turkmenabat from Belarus and India for the return of citizens who failed to return earlier for the above-mentioned reason.
