Turkmenistan's Ambassador to China participated in the round table of the Qinghai Expo

The Chinese city of Xining (Qinghai province) hosts the Qinghai environmental industry Expo and the Tibetan carpet exhibition from September 6 to 10, "Turkmenistan: The Golden age" reports.

Within the framework of the industrial and environmental forum, a round table was organized on the topic "Cooperation and development of the environmental industry", which was attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parahat Durdyev via videoconference.

In his video message to the participants, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan focused on aspects of the national environmental strategy initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Among the key goals of the environmental policy are ensuring dynamic economic growth through efficient and rational use of natural resources, implementing the principles of a "green" economy and adapting to climate change, consolidating international efforts to achieve sustainable development Goals, as well as developing a special UN Program to save the Aral Sea and the UN Water Strategy.

In his speech, the Ambassador spoke about the policy of Turkmenistan in the field of ecology and environmental protection, the key goals of the national environmental strategy, the introduction of the principles of the "green" economy and measures to adapt to climate change.

The head of the diplomatic mission noted that Turkmenistan has joined international conventions and UN programs on various aspects of environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, and solving environmental problems, and that our country adheres to the position of using natural resources for the common good.

The Ambassador also informed the participants of the video meeting about the results of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in IFAS (in 2017-2019), as well as the adoption of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea on August 12, 2018, which became an important step towards global energy security.

In addition, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan spoke about the ongoing work in all regions of the country in the field of rational use of water resources, landscaping, conservation of biological diversity and natural landscapes, combating desertification and land degradation, as well as the Concept for the development of the lake region "Altyn Asyr".

During his speech, P. Durdyev noted that the vectors of Turkmenistan's economic policy are aimed at removing Turkmenistan from the categories of countries that export raw materials and turning it into a country that produces and exports high-tech and environmentally friendly products.

At the end of his speech, the Ambassador informed the participants of the round table about a series of events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality status. In particular, about the International conference "the policy of Neutrality and its significance in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development" scheduled for December in Ashgabat.
