The signing of a Memorandum of understanding between the government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on sustainable economic development took place today at the Ministry of Finance and economy of Turkmenistan.
The Memorandum was signed at the end of a meeting between the Minister of Finance and economy of Turkmenistan E. Annamuhammedov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan Hugh Philpott, during which issues of enhancing mutually beneficial bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including financing and investment, were discussed. This is reported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In an interview with “Turkmenportal” in February this year, Ambassador Hugh Philpott said: "I want a Mature and broad relationship and I intend to find out what achievements Turkmenistan can offer to my country, and what achievements my country can offer to Turkmenistan. So we have a lot of opportunities, and I'm looking forward to the future with enthusiasm." The interview can be found here.
