On behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a Program for 2020-2021 is being developed to reduce the impact on the national economy of the country of adverse factors that currently take place in the world economy, and to ensure the achievement of pre-crisis macroeconomic indicators. According to the head of state, this Program should provide for investment in various sectors of the economy and support for exports of products produced in the country.
Currently, an important task is to ensure the stable operation of the oil and gas industry, which is directly related to the modernization of infrastructure and production facilities, updating equipment and equipment, and the introduction of effective technologies. It should be noted that more than 4 billion manats were allocated for this purpose in the first five months of this year. This is almost 800 million manats more than in the same period last year.
As you know, maintaining and increasing the level of oil and gas production in Turkmenistan is provided by increasing the return of traditional fields and the development of new deposits – mainly deep-lying and hard-to-recover reserves.
An important issue is also the growth of hydrocarbon reserves and the strengthening of the raw material base of the complex. In particular, there are good prospects for the discovery of significant oil and gas reserves on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea. In General, all this requires additional financial investments.
It should be noted that the fuel and energy complex occupies a leading position in attracting foreign direct investment to Turkmenistan. An example of this is the productive cooperation in the field of field exploration and development with the “China national oil and gas Corporation” (CNPC), “Dragon oil” (UAE), “Petronas” (Malaysia), “Eni” (Italy), “Mitro International” (Austria), as well as with leading companies in Japan and the Republic of Korea in the construction of high-tech production complexes for oil and gas processing.
