During the next informal session of the Turkmen-Italian business forum, issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Italy in the fields of trade and economy were discussed in the format of a videoconference. This is reported by the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by various institutions, companies, private entrepreneurs and their representatives from both countries. The forum was opened by Italian Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs and international cooperation Manlio di Stefano and Italian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Diego Ungaro.
The consultant of the Italian trade Agency ICE/ITA in Turkmenistan announced the next edition of the Turkmen-Italian business directory for 2020, which will be available in print and electronic format on the websites of the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat and the Italian trade Agency ICE / ITA, and also announced the analysis of statistics on bilateral trade provided by the Italian Statistical Institute (ISTAT) and the state Committee of Turkmenistan on statistics.
The forum participants got acquainted with the presentation of the main results achieved following the results of the previous official business forum, which was successfully held in Milan on November 6, 2019, on the eve of the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Rome.
During this time, more than 50 joint projects and initiatives were implemented, some of which were presented at the event as success stories and best practices of private entrepreneurs involved in their implementation (including projects for the production of solar panels and tempered glass).
Presentations were also made by representatives of the SACE regional office in Moscow, the EBRD office in Ashgabat, and the chamber of Commerce and industry of Turkmenistan (CIT).
The forum also discussed the specifics of private sector development in Turkmenistan, procedures for obtaining entry visas, company registration, and others.
At the end of the event, it was announced that the next meeting is planned to be held in the fall.
