United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) announced an international photo contest in support of ecosystem restoration on the theme "People in self-isolation, nature unblocked: flora and fauna during COVID-19".
The competition is aimed at raising awareness of the rate of extinction of natural habitats of species, which causes great concern for the future of the planet. The aim of the competition is to promote the conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity.
Everyone is invited to participate in the competition: from Amateur photographers to professionals, regardless of their age, gender or nationality.
Photos must be sent via this website, the deadline for submission is September 15, 2020.
The work will be evaluated by a panel consisting of members of the UNECE committees on forests and the forest industry and on environmental policy, as well as professional photographers.
The 13 best photos will be included in the UNECE calendar for 2021 and will be presented at a special exhibition at the Palace of Nations in Geneva in late autumn 2020.
