Today, Astrakhan unloaded and distributed free humanitarian aid sent from Turkmenistan. The humanitarian aid will go to medical and social institutions of the Astrakhan region, reports astrahan24.ru.
As we wrote earlier, Turkmenistan, by Order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent a humanitarian cargo to the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation as assistance in the fight against coronavirus. On May 10, the ferry "Bagtyyar" delivered 49 trucks with a total capacity of 1.2 thousand tons to the port of Olya.
100 tons of tomatoes alone were sent. According to the authorities, perishable products will be distributed to the hospital within two days according to the requests. One ton of products will be sent to the medical staff of the Regional center for AIDS prevention and control, where rapid tests for detecting coronavirus are carried out during the pandemic-up to 400 tests a day. Part of the cargo will be sent to boarding schools, nursing homes, and low-income residents of Astrakhan. Lists for targeted assistance are made in the regional Ministry of social development.
It took more than a dozen people to unload the delivered goods, which are food, chemical products and building materials. The products that arrived from Turkmenistan were unloaded by representatives of law enforcement agencies: “Rosgvardiya” and the Ministry of emergency situations.
Construction materials and chemical products were temporarily unloaded at the stadium of the fire Department of the Ministry of emergency situations. It is noted that among the products there is a huge pariah of 25-kilogram bags with polyethylene (raw materials). According to Astrakhan correspondents, grains can eventually be used to make a variety of products, for example, for agriculture. Construction materials are still at the stadium of the Ministry of emergency situations. It is possible that in the near future they will be transferred to representatives of small and medium-sized businesses - they suffered significant losses during the pandemic.
