The main areas of cooperation were discussed today with representatives of the world tourism organization (UNWTO) at an online working meeting in the Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan.
One of the main topics was the participation of enterprises and organizations of our country specializing in tourism and information and communication technologies in the international competition "Healing Solutions Toigism Challenge", held by UNWTO with the support of the world health organization.
This global campaign is aimed at finding effective solutions to support the tourism business in the current economic conditions caused by COVID-19, as well as innovative ways to restore the industry after the pandemic. The selected projects will be included in a digital booklet for distribution to 150 ministries around the world, and an international presentation of the most interesting ideas will be organized. The winners will also have access to the UNWTO Innovation Network, which includes hundreds of start-UPS and leading travel companies, major corporations, investors, government agencies and educational institutions.
At the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan pays great attention to the formation of a modern tourism infrastructure, the introduction of advanced technologies and digital systems used today in the sanatorium and resort sector, the hotel business and related areas of the tourism industry, which opens up broad prospects for long-term cooperation in this segment of the economy.
Our country's great opportunities in this area are based on its rich historical and cultural heritage, a variety of natural attractions and unique recreational resources.
Participants of the online talks also discussed proposals to enhance partnership with the world tourism organization and expand international relations in the field of tourism, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
