On the occasion of the Muslim Holy month of Oraza, Turkmenistan will send a cargo of humanitarian aid to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The corresponding Order was signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, ordering the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, as well as the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs to donate food products to the neighboring country, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.

The document directs the Ministry of foreign Affairs to ensure the dispatch and organized transfer of the specified humanitarian aid to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and the relevant ministries and branch agencies to assist the Ministry of foreign Affairs in its preparation, dispatch and transfer.

This act of goodwill is yet another evidence of the unwavering commitment of Turkmenistan and its people to the ideals of peace and humanism. The month of Oraza is revered by the people as a time of purification, piety and good deeds. Generosity, faith in goodness, and readiness to help one's neighbor have been distinctive features of the Turkmen character since time immemorial, the commentary of the state news Agency of Turkmenistan emphasizes.

Following the centuries-old traditions of generosity and mutual assistance, Turkmenistan makes a significant contribution to the development of the socio-economic infrastructure of Afghanistan and the establishment of peaceful life. By providing constant support to the people of our neighboring state, our country confirms its commitment to strengthening traditional good-neighborly relations and further developing cultural and humanitarian ties.

Within the framework of existing bilateral agreements, Turkmenistan is implementing a number of projects, including providing the people of a friendly country with electricity on a preferential basis, as well as liquefied gas. Domestic specialists are building the most important facilities for various purposes on the territory of Afghanistan, helping to educate young people and train personnel.

In particular, the construction of Railways continues on the territory of Afghanistan, which will connect the friendly state through the territory of Turkmenistan with the vast geo-economic space of the Eurasian continent.

Turkmenistan and its neighboring country are also working on implementing large-scale projects – such as the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline, a high-voltage power line and fiber-optic communication along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route, and the creation of the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey corridor, which is designed not only to increase trade and economic ties between the States of the region, but also to increase trade turnover between Central and South Asia and Europe.
