Today, the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee of the EU project “Assistance to the education system in Turkmenistan” was held in the building of the National Institute of education. The meeting was held in the online mode.
The European Union project “Assistance to the education system in Turkmenistan” has been operating in the country since September 2016. The main goal of the project is to assist the government of Turkmenistan in creating a modern education system in accordance with international standards. The goal of the project is to contribute to the process of modernizing the education system by introducing modern standards and programs based on the needs of the labor market.
The project components are:
- Strategic planning – institutional capacity management;
- Development of General secondary and vocational education programs.
The project partners are the Ministry of education, the national Institute of education and the Ministry of labor and social protection of the population of Turkmenistan.
Today's meeting was aimed at presenting and discussing the work of the project for the period October 2019 - March 2020, as well as planning activities to further promote the improvement of the education system of Turkmenistan.
The project Steering Committee includes representatives of ministries and departments of the country, including the Ministry of education, the Ministry of labor and social protection, the Ministry of construction and architecture, and the Ministry of textile industry of Turkmenistan: they took part in previous meetings and were already familiar with the goals, objectives and approaches for implementing the next stage of the project.
The meeting was also attended by Ms. Silvia Pietropaolo from the EU delegation in Kazakhstan and Mr. Dimitris Bakolas, President of European Profiles, Greece.
