Judoists – master of sports of the international class Gulbadam Babamuratova (weight category up to 52 kilograms) and a student of the Turkmen state Institute of physical culture and sports, master of sports Hakberdy Jumayev (up to 60 kg) are applying for participation in the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo from Turkmenistan, the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" reports.

Gulbadam Babamuratova, thanks to her consistently high results in the international sports arena, has a good chance to receive a personal invitation to the summer Olympic games-2020, and Hakberdy Jumayev is close to the so-called continental quota, which is additionally determined by the representatives of the International Judo Federation (IJF).

Recall that 28-year-old Gulbadam Babamuratova has already represented Turkmenistan at the main sporting events of the four-year-old – in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and now came close to her second honorary title "Olympian". For Hakberdy Jumayev, a young but very promising Turkmen wrestler, a possible trip to the Tokyo Olympics will be the debut in his sports career.

According to information, in early 2020 Gulbadam and Hakberdy will go to Austria for training camps held under the auspices of the IJF. This traditional pre-Olympic sports forum will bring together the strongest masters of the Japanese style of wrestling from all over the world, who will be engaged under the guidance of well-known highly qualified mentors.

Then, from 23 to 25 January, our Judaists will participate in the world-class qualification tournament "Gran slam", which will be held in Tel Aviv (Israel), where they can significantly increase their Olympic rating. And in February, they are waiting for two more such serious exams-on the sports tatami of Paris (France) and Dusseldorf (Germany). So we wish our best Turkmen masters of judo good luck in the fight for tickets to the Olympics.
