The foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan, Ms. Sorhilda Mary Vivia Abbott-watt, completing her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, the official website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov expressed gratitude to Ms. Ambassador, on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for her important contribution to the development of bilateral relations based on the principles of equality, respect, and openness.
According to the information, the sides noted the friendly nature of the Turkmen-British relations. In turn, Ms. Abbott-watt expressed her gratitude to the Turkmen side for its full support in the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom.
Expressing interest in further strengthening of Turkmen-British relations, the diplomats discussed a number of topical issues, including opportunities for further development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, the source said.
