The Mejlis of Turkmenistan adopted 23 laws and 19 resolutions in the period from January to October of this year, including important legislative acts on energy conservation and hydrometeorological activities. This was reported by the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova at a government meeting.
“During the period under review, 23 Laws of Turkmenistan were adopted, in particular, “On the establishment of the jubilee medal “Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna”, “On energy conservation and energy efficiency”, “On hydrometeorological activities”, as well as laws aimed at legal support for the country’s foreign policy initiatives. At the same time, a number of legislative acts regulating relations in various areas have been brought into line with advanced international practice, national principles and the realities of the time. In addition, 19 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted,” the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) quotes Gulmanova as saying.
According to the head of the Turkmen parliament, during the reporting period, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan significantly expanded international cooperation. 37 meetings were held within the framework of interparliamentary relations, credentials were received from 14 foreign ambassadors. Deputies and specialists of the parliament took part in 98 seminars on the modernization of legislative activity, and also made 33 working trips to foreign countries.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, commenting on the information presented, emphasized the need for further improvement of national legislation taking into account world practice and national principles, as well as the importance of strengthening international cooperation.
