The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamahmudov will be an honorary guest of the International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2024” (OGT 2024), which will be held in Ashgabat from October 23 to 25. This was reported to Turkmenportal by the Organizing Committee of the conference.

Mirzamahmudov will speak at the session “New trends in the global energy market and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation”, where he will discuss key issues of international energy cooperation.

The session will include a review of current trends in the global energy market and a discussion of Turkmenistan's strategic role in this context. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, being long-standing trade and economic partners, actively cooperate in the energy sector. The Turkmenistan-China international gas pipeline passes through Uzbekistan, and the republic is also a stable buyer of Turkmen electricity.

Participants of the session will get acquainted with the capabilities of Turkmenistan's energy infrastructure, which is closely linked to a similar system in Uzbekistan. Both countries have bilateral agreements aimed at stable supplies of natural gas and electricity, as well as the implementation of various infrastructure projects. This cooperation contributes to regional integration and strengthening energy stability in Central Asia.

The visit of Jurabek Mirzamahmudov to Turkmenistan and his participation in OGT 2024 will make a significant contribution to the development of bilateral partnership and the implementation of the planned events.

More than 700 delegates from 40 countries have already registered to participate in the conference. Online registration will be open until October 20.
