1. Today Turkmenistan, together with the international community, celebrates World Bicycle Day. On this occasion, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his compatriots on this international day. 4. “Turkmenistan” Airlines announced changes to its flight schedule to the Russian Federation. Starting from June 2, the carrier temporarily suspended flights on the Ashgabat – Kazan – Ashgabat route. Instead, the planes will fly to Moscow. According to an official statement on the “Turkmen Airlines” website, passengers with tickets for flights to Kazan will be able to use them to fly to Moscow without additional fees. Moreover, the airline offers a free transfer from Moscow airport to Kazan for those who have already purchased tickets to the capital of Tatarstan.
5. The Olympic village of Ashgabat received the status of the “Education and Training Center of the Asian Region” for tennis. The Asian Tennis Federation presented a certificate to this effect at a ceremony in the capital of Turkmenistan on June 1. The event, dedicated to International Children's Day, was held at the Tennis Complex of the Olympic village. In addition to the presentation of the certificate, a children's tennis festival opened here. The new status will permit Ashgabat to host not only major tournaments, but also training camps for athletes from all over Asia.
