The musical revolution has gained official status. Berlin's techno scene has been included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is reported by snob.ru with reference to Deutsche Welle.

According to Claudia Roth, Germany's cultural commissioner, Berlin's electronic music transmits the values of “diversity, respect and cosmopolitanism”.

The Berlin Nightclub Association, which initiated the inclusion of techno on the list, welcomes the decision as a sign of recognition for local DJs, musicians and club owners.

Inclusion on the UNESCO list is not only a prestigious status, but also a potential help in preserving and developing Berlin's techno-culture.

In addition to Berlin's techno scene, the list includes the traditional Finsterwalde chants, the “Kirchseon Perchten-Rahn” winter parade in Bavaria and mountaineering in Saxony.
