1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to the President of the Republic of India, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the National holiday of India - Republic Day.

2. A press conference was held in Ashgabat by the new Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok, at which he announced the intention of the two countries to increase trade turnover to 5 billion USD. The diplomat emphasized the contribution of Turkish companies to the development of the infrastructure of Turkmenistan. It was noted that in 2023, Turkish contractors completed 7 new projects worth 3,2 billion USD in Turkmenistan. Currently, 21 projects worth 4,4 billion USD are being implemented.

3. The Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan Guych Garayev met with the director of the Institute of Sea and River Fleet Ilyas Salahov. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of training and retraining Turkmen specialists for sea and river transport. Salahov noted the important role of the Turkmenbashy international seaport on the Caspian Sea, which requires appropriate training of specialists. Garayev emphasized that the development of transport links, including through the Caspian Sea, is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy.

4. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan Batyr Rejepov gave a lecture at the Eurasian National University in Astana. It was dedicated to the youth policy of Turkmenistan and was held within the framework of the Year “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”. During his speech, the ambassador spoke about the priority attention paid to youth policy by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and also presented the book of the head of state “Youth is the support of the Motherland”.

5. Oguz han University of Engineering and Technology has been nominated for the prestigious THE Awards Asia-2024. The award recognizes universities' achievements in various areas such as academics, leadership, management and professional services. 80 finalists from 17 countries are competing for the sixth edition of the award. This year, more than 600 applications were received in 10 categories, covering all areas of university activity. Oguz han University of Engineering and Technology entered the top eight in the “Student Attraction Campaign of the Year” nomination.

6. At Lincolnshire Wildlife Zoo, eight parrots who learned to swear will be sent to another flock for re-education. Last year, the zoo was forced to isolate five of the parrots from visitors because their speech was too rough. This year, the zoo decided to try a different approach. Five old “hooligan” birds and three new ones will be added to a flock of 92 calmer parrots.

7. The first festival of foreign cultures, Global Fest, will be held in Kazan. The event will be dedicated to the cultural diversity of the world. The festival will be attended by foreign students studying at higher educational institutions in Kazan. They will represent their countries through creative performances that will tell about traditions, customs and culture. Guests of the event will be able to enjoy dancing, music, songs, theatrical performances and master classes.

8. The women's national team of Turkmenistan will take part in the Central Asian Football Association Futsal Championship. The tournament will be held from February 2 to 12 in Dushanbe among five women's teams from the region. In addition to the Turkmenistan team, the teams of Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will compete in the round-robin competition. The winner of the tournament will be determined by the highest number of points scored.

9. On January 28, coaches and players of the “Ahal” football club will conduct a master class for young football players aged 7 to 12 years. The event will be held at 15:30 on the field of the “Ashgabat” stadium under the motto “Young football players, you are our future!” The organizers remind parents that the master class will be held outdoors, so it is important to dress children warmly for the weather. During the event, professional trainers will share their experience and give useful advice to young athletes, as well as conduct training for them.
