Since the inception of C5+1 in 2015, platform engagement has expanded U.S.-Central Asian dialogue and cooperation at the ministerial level, through expert meetings and through thematic working groups.
In 2022, the C5+1 Secretariat was established to establish formal procedures for setting and promoting shared priorities, coordinating communications between participating governments, and planning high-level ministerial meetings and other events.
The C5+1 Working Groups deal with areas such as the economy, energy and environment, and security.
