Kyrgyzstan transferred four boarding houses on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul to Uzbekistan for long-term use for 49 years, reported Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.
At present time, four boarding houses – “Golden Sands”, “Rahat”, “Dilorom” and the unfinished “Buston” are recognized as unprofitable due to poor condition and worn out infrastructure. In turn, Uzbek investors expressed their readiness to invest in each of the boarding houses in the amount of 15 to 20 million dollars.
Until 2016, boarding houses were managed by companies from Uzbekistan, but then they were transferred to the balance of Kyrgyzstan. Reconstruction of boarding houses in the region can become a driver of economic growth.
