The well-known Singaporean MMA promotion ONE Championshiph plans to hold a qualifying tournament in Central Asia, in which fighters from Turkmenistan can take part. This was announced by the head of the Kazakh promotion Naiza Nurbek Karabala, sports.kz reports.
According to him, the project is called Road to ONE and was launched by the Mongolian organizers. They offered cooperation to Naiza, because they appreciated his work and the level of fighters. The project will select the best fighters from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan who will fight for the right to compete in the ONE Championship.
So far, all the details of the project are under discussion, but Karabala expressed interest in the idea. He noted that this will be a good opportunity for the development of MMA in the region and the promotion of talented fighters to the international arena.
ONE Championship is the largest MMA promotion in Asia, which hosts tournaments in various types of martial arts, such as MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing and others.
