At the headquarters of the organizing committee of the 2024 Olympics in Saint-Denis showed what the Olympic and Paralympic torches will look like. The torch relay will begin in Marseille on May 8 next year.
Designer Mathieu Lehanneur said that he worked on the creation of torches for six months. He explained that three ideas are reflected in their design: equality, Paris and appeasement.
The 2024 Games torches are made from recycled steel and are 70 cm high, 3,5 cm in diameter at the edges and 10 cm in the center. Their weight is 1,5 kg.
The Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The Paralympics will be from August 28 to September 8 of the same year. The slogan of the Games was “Let's Open the Games Wide”. The mascots of the competition were toys in the form of red Phrygian caps under the names of Frigi.
