A seminar on raising legal awareness of children's rights was held at the Hazar Hotel in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The event was held as part of the joint work plan for this year of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan together with the representative office of the United Nations Children's Fund in Turkmenistan (UNICEF).

According to the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age", the seminar was attended by deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, the hyakimlik of the Balkan velayat, the Bar Association, the youth organization named after Magtymguly and the Women's Union of Turkmenistan.

The seminar was aimed at increasing the legal literacy of representatives of institutions working with children in relation to the rights of the child.

Addressing the participants of the meeting, Ombudsman of Turkmenistan Ya. Gurbannazarova and UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan M. Fayazi emphasized the importance of joint cooperation and uniting the efforts of organizations working with children.

During the seminar, international documents implemented in national legislation and related to the rights of children were considered. In Turkmenistan, the rights and interests of children are protected by the Law on State Guarantees of the Rights of the Child.

The seminar ended with a speech by Mohammad Fayazi on the importance of monitoring visits in the implementation of children's rights in practice, the source notes.
