Turkmenistan is increasing gas supplies to China. In March of this year, the export of blue fuel to China increased from 2,4 billion cubic meters to 2,9 billion cubic meters, reaching a maximum level in 2022, reports “Finmarket” news agency with reference to data from the China Customs Administration.

In general, the publication notes that exporters from Central Asia, as the heating season ends, are restoring the volume of natural gas exports via pipelines to China.

Kazakhstan exported 380 million cubic meters to China in March and could potentially increase by another 100 million cubic meters per month.

Uzbekistan resumed gas exports after three months of a complete halt and delivered 140 million cubic meters to China in March with the potential to more than quadruple supplies.

Earlier in May, during the “China-Central Asia” summit in Xi'an, Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke in favor of expanding energy cooperation with the countries of the region.

Let us note that the gas pipeline “Turkmenistan – China” was put into operation at the end of 2009, today it has already delivered over 350 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

The main volumes of supplies go through three lines of the transnational gas pipeline “Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan – China”. At present time, agreements have been reached between the countries on laying the fourth line of the gas pipeline, which will increase supplies to 65 billion cubic meters per year. Last year, Turkmenistan supplied China with 34 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
