Talks were held in Moscow between Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan Charyyar Chetliyev and Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov.
As reported on the website of the Rosselkhoznadzor, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary supervision, noting mutual interest in developing close partnerships under the agreement signed in June this year between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan on cooperation in plant quarantine.
In particular, issues such as accelerating the harmonization of protocols for the integration of information systems in the field of plant quarantine, as well as training Turkmen specialists in the effective diagnosis of animal and bird diseases and food safety were considered. For its part, the Rosselkhoznadzor offered to send representatives of the Turkmen veterinary and phytosanitary services to get acquainted with the practical experience of the leading scientific institutions of the FGBU “VNIIKR”, FGBU “ARRIAH”.
At the end of the talks, the Russian side noted the importance of prompt and open bilateral information about the epizootic and phytosanitary situation that affects trade between the countries, and expressed its readiness for an ongoing dialogue.
