The host of the next 95th Academy Awards ceremony on March 12-13, 2023 will be the comedian actor Jimmy Kimmel, writes the website Film.ru.
Actor will host the “Oscars” ceremony for the third time – the previous two were in 2017 and 2018. It was at the ceremony in 2018 that the envelopes with the title of the winning film (“Moonlight” instead of “La-La-Land”) were mixed up.
On the occasion of his election Kimmel made a joking statement to the press:
“Being invited to host the “Oscars” is either a great honor or a trap. Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no”.
“Champion” in terms of the number of “Oscars” ceremonies holding is considered Bob Hope – he became the host 11 times, Billy Crystal is in second place (9 times), and Johnny Carson is third (5 times). Whoopi Goldberg and Jack Lemmon hosted four times.
Nominations for the 2023 “Oscars” will be announced on January 24.
