Karate athletes from Turkmenistan won 14 medals at the open European championship in Rimini

The Open Fudokan Karate European Championship in Rimini (Rome) brought 14 medals to the athletes from Turkmenistan at once. In total, 1000 karate athletes from 30 countries of the world took part in the competitions, reports the electronic newspaper “The Golden Age”.

The national team of Turkmenistan was represented by ten athletes and two coaches. Turkmen karate athletes won 2 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Yhlas Annagurbanov in the age group among teenagers aged 11-13 won a gold medal in the kata discipline, and in the 45 kg weight category in the kumite discipline – silver.

Nurgeldy Annagurbanov became the second in the individual kata among boys aged 16-17.

Yagmyrmyrat Sahetmyradov took the third place in the individual kumite among athletes in the weight category up to 65 kg among boys aged 16-17. Durdymyrat Meredov won two bronze medals: one in kumite among athletes in the weight category up to 65 kg in the age category of 18-20 years, and the second among karate players of all ages.

Among athletes aged 18-20, Arslan Atayev (up to 65 kg) took second place in sparring, and Selim Myratdurdyev (up to 70 kg) in the same type of program became the second among 21-year-old athletes.

Kemal Atayev was awarded a bronze medal in the kumite discipline among athletes aged 21-35, and Arslan Atayev took third place in the weight category over 80 kg among karate players aged 18-20.

Durdymyrat Meredov rose to the third step of the podium in the individual kumite in the age group of 18-20 years, and Rovshen Hudayberenov became the bronze medalist in the individual kata in the age group of 21-35 years.

In the team kumite, Arslan Atayev, Selim Myratdurdyev, Durdymyrat Meredov and Rovshen Hudayberenov won gold among athletes aged 19-21 years, and Kemal Atayev, Arslan Atayev, Eymur Mademinov and Rovshen Hudayberenov won silver among karate players aged 21-35 years.
