The riders of the team of the Federation of Automobile Sports of Turkmenistan made the top three at the fifth stage of the “Silk Road” rally-raid in the off-road category (T2).
The first with the result of 3 hours 47 minutes 4 seconds was Merdan Toylyev in a Nissan Patrol car, Shamurad Gurbanov (+ 6.37) took the second place, and Maksatmurad Donatarov (+ 7.55) finished the third.
The length of the route “Grozny-Grozny” was 298 kilometers, and the special stage - 217.
On the sixth day of the “Silk Road” rally, the participants of the race will have a marathon stage along the “Grozny-Elista” route with a total length of 545 kilometers, 485 of which will be a special section.
The “Silk Road” rally holds from 7 to 16 July in Russia. Race participants started in Astrakhan and will finish at the “Luzhniki” stadium in Moscow. For the first time in the modern history of motor sports, the Republic of Dagestan and the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation host rally-raid competitions.
