The XIX Summer Asian Games, which were to be held in 2022 in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, have been postponed indefinitely, reported the press service of the Olympic Council of Asia.
New competition dates will be announced later.
The Summer Asian Games were to be held in China from 10 to 25 September. Hangzhou will be the third Chinese city to hold the Asian Games after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.
The Asian Games have been held since 1951. The host country of the Asian Games 2022 was determined on September 16, 2017 at the meeting of the 34th session of the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia held in Ashgabat.
