According to NASA an unnamed asteroid № 418135 will fly dangerously close to the Earth on April 28. The dimensions of the approaching celestial body are from 350 to 780 meters in diameter, which is twice the size of the Empire State Building skyscraper, reports vokrugsveta.ru.
However, despite the status of a potentially dangerous asteroid, there is no likelihood of a collision. Scientists informs that asteroid 418135 will be eight times farther from Earth than the Moon. The status of potentially dangerous is given to all celestial bodies that approach the Earth at least 7,5 million kilometers. It is also noted, that asteroid 418135 will not be the largest object of those that will appear not far from Earth in the coming weeks.
So, astronomers expect the passage of asteroid № 467460 on May 9, the diameter of which reaches 860 meters.
