On November 26, in Moscow, in the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery, a gala concert and awarding ceremony for the laureates of the VI Moscow International Festival of Arts “Sounds of Dutar” named after Nury Halmamedov will take place.
About 40 performers became laureates of the sixth festival. Many contestants, including those from Turkmenistan, took part in the correspondence format - by video recording.
Playing the national string instrument - dutar - created the melodic, modal and rhythmic foundations of the Turkmen national musical art. Nury Halmamedov is the most prominent representative of the Turkmen classical music school, who raised folk music to the level of world culture.
The annual music festival is dedicated to the theme - the interpenetration of cultures, where national music, reflected in the composer's work, became the connecting link. The purpose of the festival is international communication based on the unity of human spirituality, the penetration of professional national music into the treasury of world culture and cooperation of musicians from different countries.
