In accordance with the contract between the state concern “Turkmengas” and the Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company (PMC), 15 000 tons of pipes will be supplied to Turkmenistan for the construction of the “Zerger” gas turbine power plant in the Lebap velayat. This was reported on the official website of (PMC).

The pipes will ensure the flow of gas from the country's fields to the gas turbine power plant, the company said. Cooperation is carried out within the framework of the program for the development of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan until 2030 and the program for expanding trade turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan.

Large-diameter pipes with an outer insulating coating of high strength class will be shipped, according to the contract, by the Volzhsk Pipe (VPP) and Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling (ChPRP) plants, which are part of PMC.

Denis Prikhodko, PMC's Sales Director:

"As part of cooperation with Turkmenistan, our enterprises have been successfully supplying pipe products to companies in the fuel, energy and electric power sectors of the country for many years. The new contract for the supply of high-tech products for “Turkmengas” will contribute to the development of the energy infrastructure of Turkmenistan and increase its export potential. We are fully planning to complete deliveries under the contract as early as 2021”.

As a reminder, the gas turbine power plant equipped with high-tech equipment with a capacity of 432 megawatts is being built in the Chardzhev etrap of the Lebap velayat. A large investment project is being implemented with Sumitomo Corporation and “Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems” (Japan), as well as “Rönesans Holding” (Turkey).
