The Turkmen state institute of architecture and civil engineering is actively involved in the project of mosaic design of bridges located at the intersection of Bitarap Turkmenistan, Turkmenbashi, Andaliba and Bekreve Streets with Archabil Avenue, as well as at the intersection of Kopetdag Avenue and Bekreve Street. In this direction, the university students have developed several dozen variants of thematic sketches for mosaic coating. For example, some sketches include urban landscapes depicting nearby buildings, monuments, park ensembles, as well as ancient architectural monuments.
Other sketches reflected the natural resources and sights of our country - frisky Ahalteke horses, Turkmen alabays, desert ships – camels.
Among the mosaic variants there is a theme of the cultural traditions of the people. National carpet ornaments and gels are interwoven here, in the symbolism of which the Turkmens have always put a deep meaning. The language of patterns of Turkmen carpets is a rich story about the culture, life and traditions of the people.
Currently, samples of student sketches for mosaic design of bridges are under consideration by industry leaders.
The students also prepared projects of bridge floors made of light, transparent materials. The design elements of the objects are designed to improve their design, they will also connect the bridges of left-hand and right-hand traffic.
Aisha Gubayeva, head of the working group, head and senior lecturer of the Department of Architecture tells:
- The youngsters are very willing to participate in the creation of projects that are growing the beautiful Ashgabat, everyone strives to make their own contribution to the improvement of the city, to increase its splendor. Students take this work with great responsibility, offer innovative solutions, make original proposals, apply a professional design approach individually to each object.
Over the years of independence, representatives of the university have created more than a dozen major projects, which later organically intertwined with the architectural ensembles of the capital and the velayats of the country. Among the capital's objects are the Complex of the International Association “Turkmen Alabay”, the monuments “Abadançylyk” (at the intersection of Archabil and Chandybil Avenues), “Dowamat” (at the intersection of N. Andalib and Oguzhan Avenues), ”Alaw” (at the intersection of N. Andalib Avenue and Gerogly Street) and others.
Currently, according to the project of the authors of this university, a complex of buildings of the Academy of public service under the President of Turkmenistan is being built along Gerogly Street in the capital.
The university has two spacious workshops, where students study electively in two leading groups – a mock-up and a project group. Students own a variety of specialized computer programs - AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, etc., designed for designing, creating decor and design projects. Young teachers of the university Shirmuhammet Jepbarov, Dovran Bekdullayev, Meredaly Sahedov and others lead the work in the workshops. Among them are graduates of this university and authors of existing urban infrastructure facilities.
