President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to President of the Republic of Turkey Rejep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with the earthquake that occurred in Izmir province and caused numerous human casualties, injuries and large-scale destruction.
The Turkmen leader also expressed on behalf of the people, Government and myself, words of deep empathy and support in this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims and wishes speedy recovery to the injured, told the news program "Watan" Turkmen television.
The Agency for emergency situations and natural disasters (AFAD) reported that on October 30, an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 occurred off the coast of Izmir province in the Aegean Sea. At least 20 buildings were reported to have collapsed.
The number of victims of the earthquake in Izmir reached 26, out of 381 victims in hospitals – 25 are in intensive care. This was announced by the head of the Turkish Ministry of health Fahrettin Hoja on his Twitter page.
