From 2025, London Fashion Week will completely ban the use of exotic animal skins, daily.afisha.ru reports, citing The Guardian.

David Lee-Pemberton, Deputy Director of Policy and Engagement at the British Fashion Council, officially announced the new rules. From now on, designers participating in shows will have to exclude crocodile, alligator and snake skins from their collections. This is a continuation of the course on environmental friendliness after the ban on the use of fur was introduced in 2023.

Among the four main world fashion weeks – New York, London, Milan and Paris – the British platform demonstrates the most progressive approach to the choice of materials. Industry representatives emphasize that this decision is a fundamental step towards more ethical and humane fashion.

Experts from World Animal Protection UK called this announcement an important signal to the global industry. In their opinion, there are many innovative materials that can replace animal skins without harming living creatures.
