At the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, key tasks in the implementation of state youth policy were identified.
As reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, in his speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of increasing the number of preschool institutions and secondary comprehensive schools, improving work with children with disabilities and improving the qualifications of teachers working with them. He also noted the need to develop a methodology for scientific, educational and industrial interrelationships in higher education institutions.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan. The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized the importance of perpetuating the memory of outstanding personalities for educating young people in the spirit of national values and traditions. He also called for a deep study of the history, culture and literature of the country based on new scientific approaches.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov particularly noted the role of the city of Arkadag, which, in his opinion, should become a world center of science and education. He proposed to create an international research center here that would study the history of Turkmenistan, its archaeological and architectural monuments.
