Govher Berdyniyazova, a 2nd-year student at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, won a grant under the «Study in Japan for Japanese Language Learners» program.

Govher achieved her victory by demonstrating a high level of language proficiency and scoring the highest number of points among many other applicants for participation, «Turkmenistan: Golden Age» reports.

The «Study in Japan for Japanese Language Learners» program brought together students from 43 countries, for whom a two-week training was organized from September 4 to 18. The right to participate in this program was given to the best experts in the Japanese language – one representative from each country.

The training was held at the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute in Osaka (The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Kansai).
An extensive cultural program was prepared for foreign students. The participants went on excursions to the Japanese cities of Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Tokyo. They visited national museums and libraries, stayed in the home of a hospitable Japanese family, thanks to which they were able to get even closer acquainted with the national customs, everyday life and traditional way of life of the Japanese.

The Japanese language is gaining increasing popularity in Turkmenistan. More than 13 thousand people study this language in the country's educational institutions.

The Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan is the only university in the country with a curriculum based on the Japanese model. The university teaches in English and Japanese, in-depth study of which is purposefully introduced into the educational process in the first years, the source notes.
