President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the head of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Mohammed Al Jasser, during which they discussed priority issues of bilateral cooperation, TDH reports.
The head of the IDB confirmed the bank's readiness to strengthen long-term cooperation with Turkmenistan, which pursues a policy of positive neutrality and implements large-scale socio-economic projects.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for cooperation in such areas as healthcare, energy, transport and sustainable development.
Particular attention was paid to projects in the oil and gas sector and clean energy, as well as the development of transport and logistics infrastructure.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of international cooperation for the country's economic development and expressed confidence in the further expansion of partnership with the IDB.
Over the 30 years of Turkmenistan's membership in the IDB, the bank has financed more than 20 important projects in such areas as healthcare, education, transport, communications and energy.
