Today, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Tokyo took part in a meeting dedicated to the organization of the first summit of the “Central Asia + Japan” format.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a meeting to prepare for the summit was held by Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa, inviting the ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan accredited to Tokyo.
The “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue summit will be held in Astana in August this year. The parties discussed current issues of interaction between the states of Central Asia and Japan in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
According to the general opinion of the meeting participants, the high-level summit will give significant impetus to further enhance six-party cooperation, the source notes.
